Exercise Green Flash 2006

Exercise Green Flash 2006. Another one for the history books. August 25, 26 & 27. Old friends and acquaintances, new friends and acquaintances. A little over 100, members and guests alike traveled from far and wide to Borden our home, to tell jokes and lies, to pass on their wisdom and war stories...just the way it should be. CFSAL [formerly RCASC School], as well as Base Borden hosted us in the style to which we've grown accustomed and we are ever so grateful.

Would that we could draw more but as with our National membership, our numbers are dwindling. The youngest RCASC Apprentice, by all accounts should be turning 60 soon if he hasn't already. Gary Stegman, where are you ?

The Base Borden WOs & Sgts [Juno Beach] Mess, as usual made the weekend very pleasant indeed. Following our usually magnificent parade?...we unveiled the RCASC Soldier Apprentice Memorial in Waggoners Park. One of our own, Padre Art Turnbull [6 Pl] asked God's blessing for the occasion.

Outgoing President, Bill Rankin handed over the reins to Terry Firman who has been our ever stalwart secretary/treasurer. We know that Terry has big shoes to fill, but Terry has big shoes of his own.

To those in ill health, please be well. To those who missed this exercise, hope to see you in 2009. To those first timers, we take it that you'll not miss another. God speed to all and Nil Sine Labore.
